Who created Bookmenti?

Bookmenti was created by Jonathan, founder of Eggvelop, a Danish software company that builds and runs its own products. Bookmenti is one of them.

It started with forgetting

"I listen to a lot of business podcasts, and great books get mentioned all the time. The problem is that I always forget to write them down. I am usually driving, walking, or in the middle of something when it happens, and by the end of the episode the title is gone.

And when a book gets mentioned twice, by different people on different shows, I want to read it even more. That felt like a signal worth tracking.

So I got curious: which books actually get mentioned the most in the podcasts I listen to? There was no good way to know. That is why I built Bookmenti, to learn and understand exactly that, and to finally get a proper overview."

That personal itch became the product: a site where every mention is caught automatically, tied to the exact moment in the episode, and counted, so the signal of repeated mentions becomes visible to everyone.

How it became a platform

What began as a personal overview now runs as a daily, automated pipeline: open podcast feeds in, word level transcripts, and a custom LLM layer that hunts for book mentions in every new episode. If you want the full picture of how it works under the hood, read what is Bookmenti.
